Shaping and inspiring Boston’s Future leaders

The Junior Economic Club is an entirely student-led 501(c)(3) non-profit that firmly believes that given the right guidance and support, high school students are capable of addressing the issues facing our society.

The Club brings together bright and ambitious high school students in an exceptional community of discussion, exposure, and leadership. We invest in Boston's future by allowing students to understand and solve real-world economic problems. In doing so, we nurture a more effective, experienced, and responsible generation of leaders. We also invest in Boston’s future by educating about financial literacy to young students.

Our Story

The Junior Economic Club of Boston was founded in June of 2021 as the community struggled with the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Angie and Vidula, students at Lexington High School, saw a need to help the city combat the lack of economic and business education and opportunities for youth. With a fast-growing population and a strong finance culture, Boston has the potential to foster resilient and outspoken leaders in the next generation. By founding JEC Boston, they hope to encourage high school students to explore deeper into economics, business, finance, and entrepreneurship, by giving them access to invaluable opportunities to work with like-minded students, meet industry professionals, and develop leadership skills. With the support of mentors, JEC Boston will cultivate a generation of effective business leaders through economic and financial literacy.

Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Promise

Our members come from all types of backgrounds. It is a priority and an expectation that this is a safe space. One of the Junior Economic Club's of Boston is to represent as many students’ ideas as possible and to afford every member equal opportunities.

Our Structure

We coordinate initiatives that provide financial education for middle school students, build websites for under-resourced schools, and more. This program is being created currently.

Our quarterly forums allow members to connect with each other and hear from a number of speakers and panelists.

During our interactive seminars, members engage with industry leaders and learn from their career experience.
