Harish Ganesh

Harish is currently a junior at Littleton High School, where he exhibits strong leadership and academic skills. As the leader of Littleton's DECA chapter, he demonstrates exceptional organizational and leadership abilities. His passion for economics is further highlighted through his contributions as a writer for the Boston Junior Economist publication. Harish has a keen interest in the application of data and statistics in the understanding of current events, historical developments, and political scenarios. In addition to his academic pursuits, Harish is an active participant in extracurricular activities. He showcases his athletic talents as a member of the Littleton High School baseball team. Furthermore, Harish also displays his musical abilities by playing the drums. His commitment to community and work ethic is evident through his employment at Market Basket.

Simon Farruqui

Simon, while serving as JEC's CFO for 3 years, initiated collaborations with the Youth Economics Initiative for financial literacy programs. Now, Simon now serves as the Co-President, where he hopes to host more networking events, increase engagement from members, and bring more speakers for panels. With numerous state-level economics competition awards and straight A’s in Harvard economics courses, he's committed to learning and sharing his knowledge at every opportunity and advocating for greater access to youth financial literacy education. Simon is currently using his research and activism to create solutions for issues of poverty, income inequality, and economic empowerment in developing countries and Boston and New York communities.

Matthew is a highly motivated student with a keen interest in writing, economics, and public speaking. As the Co-President of the Model UN at his school, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and diplomatic skills. In the field of economics, Matthew has furthered his knowledge and skills as the Vice President of Challenges in his school's DECA Chapter. His proficiency in this area is highlighted by his multiple qualifications for international competitions, showcasing his deep understanding and practical application of economic concepts. Matthew's diverse interests and achievements in writing, economics, and public speaking underscore his well-rounded and ambitious character.

Academically, Henry is dual-enrolled in accounting and business courses, demonstrating his commitment to embracing and excelling in challenging educational environments. His proficiency extends to competitive arenas, where he has consistently excelled. Outside the classroom, Henry contributes to the Boston Junior Economist,  indicating his strong writing abilities and interest in economic discourse. He also engages in sports, namely tennis and swimming, reflecting a balanced approach to personal development.

Branden Yan

Branden, a motivated senior at Algonquin Regional High School, has a unique array of interests including a passion for cats, swimming, and economics. He has been dedicated to nurturing a hydroponic garden since 3rd grade, reflecting his long-standing commitment to environmental and engineering principles. As an active contributor to the Boston Junior Economist Publication, Branden skillfully integrates his interests in engineering and environmental issues with economics. His goal is to raise awareness and understanding through his writing, highlighting his ability to connect diverse fields and his desire to make a positive impact on society.

Andrew Michelson

Andrew, a Senior at Worcester Academy, is a dynamic and driven student. He has notably founded the DECA chapter at his school, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills. Additionally, as the current president of the investment club, Andrew demonstrates a keen interest and aptitude in finance and investment strategies. His leadership extends beyond extracurricular activities, as he serves as a class officer and the head ambassador (Assistant Manager), roles that highlight his strong organizational and interpersonal skills. In his personal time, Andrew pursues diverse interests. He is an avid electric guitar player and an enthusiastic tennis player. With plans to study business in college, Andrew's varied experiences and interests lay a strong foundation for his future academic and professional pursuits in the business world.

Eric is particularly passionate about dentistry, a field in which he is making notable strides, including working towards a patent for an innovative dental tool. Fernanda Escalante

Fernanda, a junior at Phillips Exeter Academy, is deeply involved in various economic pursuits. She actively contributes as a member of the Exeter Economics Association Competition team, holds a fellowship in development economics at the Los Altos Institution, and serves as a sponsor and grant coordinator ambassador for the Youth Economics Initiative. Additionally, she competes nationally with Exeter’s Business Club in the FBLA annual competition and engages in the Exeter Entrepreneurship Club. Outside of Exeter, she leads EconToday Journal, an international publication addressing crucial economic issues. Growing up on the US-Mexico border has fueled her passion for researching developing economies, specifically within the Latin American world. This enthusiasm was further nurtured by her extensive volunteer experiences at the Desayunador Salesiano Soup Kitchen and Fundacion Baraquiel Elderly Home in Tijuana, Mexico. Today, she looks to investigate developing markets and their intersections with geopolitical relations worldwide.
